RHS Rosemoor, Devon

The roof to this dining hall was unusual in that it consisted of a number of steep pitches and valleys. Designed to be light and airy, the supporting structure had to blend in as unobtrusively as possible. This was achieved with the use of timber primary rafters and steel flitch plates at the connections. The large overhanging eaves made wind loading a careful consideration.
